Pobuda Named Chairman of Cornerhouse

Minneapolis, MN, February 10, 2007 - Lawrence A. Pobuda, co-founder of the Minneapolis-based Stewart Lawrence Group, was named Chairman of the Board of Directors for CornerHouse, a private, non-profit organization created and sustained to assess suspected child sexual abuse, to coordinate forensic interview services and to provide training to other professionals. Mr. Pobuda has been active in the organization since 1996 and has been a member of the Board of Directors for six years. He has served as Fundraising and Development Chairperson, Treasurer and Vice Chair. He will serve as Board Chair for a two-year term.

The CornerHouse Board of Directors consists of 23 members, including three Chiefs of Police. Twelve of the positions are representatives of the founding agencies, Hennepin County, the city of Minneapolis, and Children's Hospitals & Clinics. The other members are private citizens volunteering their time as Board members.

The CornerHouse Board is active year round with regular Board meetings every other month and frequent committee meetings. In addition to board and governance activities and the Board supports CornerHouse through fundraising and raising community activities aimed at raising awareness of child sexual abuse.
